Band to Watch: Frankie Rose and The Outs

June 30th, 2010 by Jamie D

Admittedly¬†I am no expert on all female music groups. I never got into them and have never done much research. I learned a bit about the roots of all female rock groups from the 60’s in my contemporary pop music class in college but other than that I know zip. What I do know is that this group, Frankie Rose and The Outs, is damn good. Singer Frankie Rose has been in the process of ¬†building a nice buzz around Brooklyn, the homeland of interesting/unique indie acts, and now with her band The Outs, they’re set to release their debut LP, entitled Slumberland, this September.

The music is laid back and a nice mix of alternative rock, pop, and just a hint of a classic rock feel. It doesn’t hurt that Rose has a damn good voice to lay over these songs. A perfect example of what this band is all about is this track “Little Brown Hair Girls”. It basically sums up this entire post about them in one song. Check it out.
